Izzy Parriss is a theatre director working across new writing and reimagined classics, with a focus on emotionally rich contemporary storytelling and the political psychology that pulses beneath intimate relationships.
As Artistic Director of Izzy Parriss Productions, she has directed After Sex by Siofra Dromgoole (Arcola Theatre) and How to Bury Imogen, the darkly comic theatrical debut of BAFTA winner Yasmin Afifi (Ustinov Studio, Theatre Royal Bath).
Earlier directing work includes her Fringe debut Dear Little Loz by Lauren Nicole Mayes, contributions to the Bomb Factory Theatre Festival of New Writing, and numerous short plays and new writing workshops for Theatre503, Omnibus Theatre and others.
Izzy’s associate and assistant directing credits include Hedda (dir. Matthew Dunster), The Rover (dir. Benedict Esdale), The Man of Mode (dir. Lindsay Posner), a workshop of Ordinary World (dir. Edward Hall), and extensive collaboration with playwright/director Philippa Lawford at Park Theatre, VAULT Festival and on tour. She is also Associate Director at Tightrope Theatre and a Collaborator at Modern Collective.
